Films in Development

Dear Donor's ,

I hope this letter finds you well.  We've reached out not just as a filmmaker, but as a storyteller with a mission—to illuminate a path toward a cleaner, more equitable future by doing what movies do best: move people.

We are producing a powerful, cinematic film that brings to life the role of renewable energy in the world’s most vulnerable places—from disaster-stricken regions to off-grid communities where energy access means education, safety, and survival. These films are not a documentary. These are  emotionally charged, character-driven stories inspired by real events, crafted to captivate mainstream audiences while delivering a vital message: clean energy saves lives.

We know you share a belief in the magic of cinema—and its unmatched power to educate, inspire, and drive change. That’s why we inviting you to become a part of this journey. We are currently raising development funding to take this vision to the next stage: script refinement, visual development, and early outreach. Your support at this stage will help ensure this film is made with both heart and integrity.

This is a rare opportunity to back a project that is not only artistically ambitious but socially urgent. With your help, we can create a film that doesn’t preach—but reaches. One that audiences will remember long after the credits roll. We would love to share our vision deck and mood reel with you, and explore how your support could help bring this story to life in a meaningful way.

Films in Development

What is Development?

The movie development phase is the initial stage in film production where the core idea is fleshed out, the screenplay is written, and the financial aspects are addressed.  This phase lays the groundwork for the entire project, encompassing idea generation, scriptwriting, legal clearances, and budgeting.

After a catastrophic hurricane obliterates Puerto Rico’s power grid, a determined engineer returns home and assembles a renegade team of scientists to build an emergency solar infrastructure—racing against time, corruption, and chaos to restore power to hospitals and communities before the island collapses.

SYNOPSIS:
Puerto Rico lies in darkness. After Hurricane Aleta, the island’s outdated and fragile power grid is reduced to rubble. Hospitals are running on fumes, communication is down, and millions are cut off from the outside world. The government stalls. Aid is bottlenecked. People are dying.

Leo Rivera, a brilliant but disillusioned solar engineer living in exile after a failed startup, receives a desperate call from his sister—a doctor on the brink of losing patients as the hospital’s generators fail. Haunted by his past and driven by the people he left behind, Leo returns to his homeland with a bold plan: to build decentralized solar microgrids across key regions of Puerto Rico.

He assembles an unlikely team: Dr. Alejandra “Alex” Cruz, a passionate climate scientist with deep roots in the mountains of Utuado. DeShawn Banks, a grizzled former FEMA logistician. María Vélez, a tech-savvy teenage prodigy hacking solar arrays from salvaged parts. And Koji Tanaka, a rogue financier with ties to a clean-tech conglomerate.

As they navigate destroyed roads, political red tape, and armed looters, they begin erecting makeshift solar farms on rooftops, schoolyards, and abandoned fields—bringing flickers of light to the darkened island. But their progress triggers backlash from fossil fuel lobbyists and corrupt local officials. Just as the team nears collapse, a bold corporate solar rescue emerges in Act III—leading to a high-stakes climax where solar energy becomes the island’s salvation.

In the final act, the team launches a network of decentralized solar nodes that restores electricity to critical areas—saving hospitals, reviving infrastructure, and inspiring a global renewable revolution.

MESSAGE:
The Solaris Project is a pulse-pounding, heart-driven thriller that teaches while it thrills. It reveals the real power of solar energy—not just as a technology, but as a tool of resilience, independence, and justice. Through character-driven action and visual storytelling, audiences learn how solar microgrids work, what net metering means, and why decentralizing energy is the key to climate survival.

In a world plagued by energy collapse, a renegade team of scientists and engineers must race against time—and sabotage—to build the world’s first hydrogen power grid in a remote, powerless region before a geopolitical crisis erupts into all-out war.

SYNOPSIS:
In the near future, global blackouts have rendered vast regions of the world powerless. In the heart of sub-Saharan Africa, a region known as the “dead zone” is left in darkness —cut off from all modern infrastructure, plagued by disease, famine, and conflict. But deep beneath its scorched soil lies one of the largest untapped sources of clean hydrogen.

Disgraced energy scientist Dr. Nia Sembé, haunted by the collapse of her previous experimental reactor, is recruited by a UN-backed shadow initiative to lead The Hydro Project—a radical attempt to construct the first autonomous hydrogen-based power grid. Joined by a rogue AI specialist, a retired military engineer, and a young local inventor, the team must navigate political sabotage, militant raids, and the unforgiving landscape to assemble the grid before the region falls into chaos.

But as the project gains traction, it draws the ire of international oil cartels, mercenary forces, and traitors within their own ranks—forcing the team to fight not only for power, but for survival. In a race where every delay could cost lives, science becomes their weapon—and hydrogen, their hope.

MESSAGE:
The Hydro Project is a thrilling story about the power of unity, innovation, and determination in the face of corruption and collapse. It asks: what would happen if clean energy became a threat to the global status quo—and would humanity be brave enough to protect it?

When a deadly blackout cripples rural Ghana, a brilliant but fractured team of scientists and engineers must risk everything to convert a toxic landfill into a revolutionary waste-to-energy plant—while fending off corporate sabotage, local unrest, and time itself.

SYNOPSIS:
The village of Asuboni, Ghana, once vibrant, now drowns in mountains of unregulated waste and rolling blackouts. With its population suffering from disease, food shortages, and increasing migration, the government quietly greenlights a controversial pilot known as The Biomass Project—a last-ditch attempt to convert waste into sustainable energy.

Enter Dr. Kwame Adusei, a visionary Ghanaian environmental engineer who returns from abroad with a desperate mission: build the continent’s first fully sustainable biomass-to-energy facility in 100 days. He’s joined by Amara Jones, a tough American systems engineer escaping her own failures, Professor Lu Wei, a retired Chinese biochemist with a mysterious past, and Tariq Diallo, a Malian hacker turned energy activist. And they are lead by Leo Rivera, a renewable energy facilitator.

But the team’s progress is threatened at every turn. Corrupt officials, multinational oil companies, and a militant group profiting from diesel smuggling conspire to destroy the plant before it can succeed. As sabotage mounts and lives are lost, the team must confront not only their enemies—but their own demons—to power a future no one believes in.

STAY TUNED - We are working to obtain Fiscal Sponsorship with FILM INDEPENDENT.org

What is Fiscal Sponsorship?

Fiscal sponsorship is an arrangement between an existing 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and an individual or entity lacking the legal status needed to receive grants from foundations, individual donors and government agencies. The fiscal sponsor agrees to provide administrative services and oversight to, and assume limited legal and financial responsibility for, the activities of groups or individuals engaged in work that furthers the fiscal sponsor’s mission, in this case, to champion creative independence in visual storytelling and support a community of artists who embody diversity, innovation and uniqueness of vision. The clearest, though not the only, benefit to participating in fiscal sponsorship is that individuals are able to access charitable funding for their project while forgoing the time consuming and expensive process of creating and running a 501(c)(3) organization themselves. This especially applies to independent filmmakers for whom setting up a nonprofit for a particular project is rarely necessary.

What does it mean?

E ~ Paradigm Productions

The letter "E" primarily represents Energy; however, due to our diversity and involvement in various projects, "E" also encompasses a multitude of meanings for us, including Entertainment, Empower, Electric, Engaging, Economics, Earth, Environment, Educate, Efficient, Earnest, Ebullient, Effuse, Elaborate, Efflorescence, Elegant, Eccentric, Eloquent, and Effective, among others.

In science, the symbol "~" (tilde) generally represents an "approximately equal to" sign, indicating that a value is close to, but not exactly equal to, another value.

In science and philosophy, a paradigm is a distinct set of concepts or thought patterns, including theories, research methods, postulates, and standards for what constitute legitimate contributions to a field. The word paradigm is Greek in origin, meaning "pattern".

The essence of independent film production lies in opportunity, the ability to express oneself, exploration, and the pursuit of creative independence, all while striving to effect meaningful change. This is the foundation upon which E ~ Paradigm Productions (EPP) was established. We seek to create opportunities and welcome you to be a part of our journey. This development project is primarily a research initiative and an experiment that holds significant potential for success for both the production company and participating investors.
